My alarm goes off…
Well, there is NEVER just one alarm, I actually have about ten alarms (laughs). I love snoozing, but my biggest fear is that I wouldn’t wake up, which is why I set so many alarms. I’m not like a grumpy morning person, I just need some encouragement to get out of bed, but once I’m up I’m good.
I’m responsible for…
Looking after the general finances and financial wellbeing of Splice on a day to day basis. Anything to do with money comes through my desk whether incoming or outgoing. And after that, there is obviously long term strategic financial plans that I help create for the company. Most of the work I do is behind the scenes!
I got my job…
I was working in a record company in Hackney when I got approached by Splice. They offered me everything I needed from a job, it would have been silly not to accept what was and has been an amazing opportunity.
My typical day…
I come to the office, have my coffee, check the bank account and from there on you never know what's going to happen. It's good like that though, I enjoy it.My most memorable work moment…
I had never worked in a post-production company before, so my knowledge of the tech and all the jargon that goes with it was definitely lacking! So, having to get my head around that quickly and learn about a new industry was certainly a challenge, but one that I've really enjoyed. The best part of my job…
Being able to be independent at work and the autonomy and freedom that comes with my role. Obviously, I have bosses but I don't have anyone who is my manager. And let's not forget that I don't have to wear a suit all day long, that's also a real perk of the job!
The worst part of my job…
I feel like in finance, in general, there is a constant flow of work, and there is never an end, so you never get that satisfying feeling of completion like my colleagues do when they deliver a TV show! After work…
In summer I normally go to the park, chill out and listen to music until the sun goes down,I also play the drums - now that I have an electric drum kit at home I play nearly every day. The rest of my kit is in a studio in Shepherd's Bush where I'll sometimes go to rehearse - every now and then I do sessions with artists.
My Plan B…
...would be to move somewhere by the beach, maybe Portugal. I'd love to open up a bar and look after people, make sure they have a good time. I'd play awesome tunes, have a jukebox and pool table in the bar...and a dog!
