Reception & Client Services Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Reception & Client Services Supervisor to join the Splice team at our flagship post production facility. This is an exciting hands-on, people-facing role with the opportunity to work with Emmy and BAFTA Award winning film makers and be a core part of the service all of our clients receive at Splice: we're looking for someone who loves leading from the front desk, sets the standard for hospitality and client care, and keeps our reception and client services team running smoothly day to day.

Reporting to the Client Services Manager and Head of People and Operations, you will be the first point of contact for clients, guests and staff, ensuring every visitor to Splice receives a warm, professional and memorable welcome, while supervising and developing the on-site client services team.

The role covers front-of-house reception, client and guest hospitality, phone and email enquiry handling, supervision of runners and work experience placements, and championing team standards including hospitality, workplace presentation and health and safety. You will be a proactive first point of contact for facilities issues, escalating where needed, and will support producers in preparing for client events and screenings.

You'll be a key part of the day-to-day running of the facility, working closely with client services, operations and production teams to make sure Splice's reception and hospitality experience is consistently best in class.

What you'll be doing…

  • Providing a friendly, personable and warm welcome to all clients, guests and visitors that attend our flagship post production facility
  • Responding to all enquiries by phone, email and in person from staff, clients and prospective clients professionally and efficiently
  • Ensuring the best in class client services are delivered day in day out
  • Supervising and supporting the on-site client services team (runners), ensuring they are well trained and professional
  • Championing the team's standards, from pace of work and barista coffee quality, to hospitality presentation, reception etiquette, workplace presentation and cleanliness, and health and safety
  • Supervising and supporting work experience placements
  • Ensuring the reception and client services team have the tools to thrive
  • Acting as first point of contact for any facilities related issues with a proactive problem solving mindset, reporting to the Client Services Manager or Head of Operations
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • Assisting with any events the company holds and contributing ideas
  • Assisting Post Producers in preparing for client events & screenings and organising your team to cater for this

You will…

  • Be experienced as a receptionist in a busy and fast paced office environment (ideally multiple occupancy)
  • Have a genuine passion for all things client services with an interest in tv and film
  • Be great with names and faces
  • Be an excellent communicator on the phone, on email and in person
  • Be creative at problem solving
  • Bring a real eye for detail and presentation
  • Be conscious of the environment and our impact as a business
  • Be keen to learn about how Splice runs, always looking to improve processes
  • Have experience with Google Suite and be confident using Google Sheets
  • Be tidy and organised

Splice - Runner
Runner

Runners provide exceptional hospitality and client service across our 3 facilities in Shoreditch and Old Street, keeping our clients feeling looked after and our facilities running smoothly.

Runners at Splice have the opportunity to shadow their colleagues, some of the best creatives, editorial assistants, DI operators, post producers and engineers in town, to build their knowledge and skills to support their progression.

What you'll be doing…

  • Delivering a warm, personable hospitality service to clients and creatives
  • Running media between buildings and to local clients
  • Keeping edit suites, sound studios, grade theatres, online suites and common areas clean, stocked and presentable
  • Serving food and drinks efficiently (coffee training provided)
  • Doing lunch/dinner runs
  • Reporting and assisting with facilities issues
  • Using the scheduling system to track client and creative bookings
  • Handling handover communication between runners, supervisors and reception
  • Opening/closing facilities and covering reception when needed

You will…

  • Be passionate about post production with a clear, established desire to work in the industry, and evidence of how you've pursued this (e.g. courses, work experience, personal projects)
  • Have some experience in customer/client services
  • Be a proactive, positive and supportive team player

Freelance DI/Grade Assistant

We are looking to expand our portfolio of experienced Freelance DI/Grade Assistants to join the Splice Technical Operations Team on a short-notice basis to support DI and OCF HETV workflows. This is an execution-focused role: we need someone who can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding and take real workload off the team during busy periods.

Reporting to the Head of DI, you will assist in delivering DI and OCF HETV workflows in grading and online, directly contributing to the delivery of high-end post-production for Splice's clients across all major networks, broadcasters and streaming platforms.

The role covers conforming for DI and OCF workflows, media managing DI sequences, colour management, and supporting Baselight and Resolve suites, including preparing theatres and rooms for colourists, rendering sequences, and managing VFX pulls and drops. You will play a key part in maintaining quality control standards including footage review, technical spec compliance (resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate) and Dolby Vision/HDR conformance for SVOD and theatrical deliverables and in flagging any technical anomalies quickly.

You'll be a key point of contact within the picture post pipeline alongside colour and online teams, production, and clients, operating Baselight, Flame and Resolve at assistant level, conforming in Baselight, Flame and Resolve.

Given the pace of current work, flexibility to work evenings and weekends during peak delivery periods is essential, along with comfort logging job status in our pipeline tracking tools so handovers stay smooth across the team.

What you'll be doing…

  • Supporting and assisting Baselight and Resolve suites and DI and OCF workflows
  • Supporting and assisting the picture post team in DI and OCF workflows
  • Preparing grading rooms for colourists, including routing, monitoring, projection and playback
  • Conforming and pre-grade in Flame, Baselight and Resolve
  • Maintaining quality control standards, including footage review, technical specification assessment (resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate), and assessment of footage for anomalies
  • QC support for SVOD and theatrical deliverables against platform specs
  • Colour management
  • Dolby Vision colour analysis
  • Basic colour correction tasks, such as adjusting exposure, contrast, and colour balance, under the guidance of the colourist
  • Loading DI sequences into Baselight
  • Rendering DI sequences from Baselight
  • Managing VFX in and out of Baselight and Flame
  • Frame rate conversions (Flame and Alchemist)
  • Managing DI sequences into Transkoder and exporting HETV master files
  • Media managing DI sequences across storage estate
  • Exporting and uploading approval files from the picture post pipeline
  • Supporting remote picture review
  • Covering DI/Grade Assistant tasks when required, including holiday cover or workload requirements
  • Excellent communication between all DI and OCF workflow stakeholders — grade, online, CTA, production and clients
  • Attending meetings and communicating directly with clients on workflows and technology, providing support and knowledge
  • First line operational support for Baselight and Resolve

  • Have Grade/Online assisting experience to an advanced level
