Head of Production

We are looking for an experienced Head of Production to lead our talented team of Post Production Executives, Post Producers and Coordinators. The ideal candidate will be a successful Post Producer in their own right, with either a successful background in a similar role or strong ambition to develop their leadership skills and become the manager of the Production department of a long form post production company.
What you will be doing…
● Leading our team of Post Production Executives, Post Producers and Post Production
● Ensuring the smooth running of every project from start to finish
● Managing and allocating projects and workload to the production team
● Providing or organising production team training and passing on knowledge
● Taking on the role of Project Director where it is required on critical projects
● Overseeing full time recruitment for the team and managing any use of freelance talent
● Reporting directly to the Managing Director and being the key production contact for all
Heads of Department providing regular communication to ensure client’s needs are met
● Scheduling and providing input on schedule strategy alongside the sales team and
Managing Director
● Representing Splice at the highest level, championing the company and its staff,
internally and externally
● Building and gaining strong working relationships with clients, attending industry events
and social meetings with current and prospective clients
● Troubleshooting and escalation point for clients on production matters
● Understanding of company’s financial targets, revenue, profit, pricing, quotes and
financial performance
● Providing detailed quotes for your clients and/or to work with the sales team on leads
and client relations to enable them to quote
● Be a key part of sales meetings and input on revenue and targets

Who you are…
● You will have a wealth of experience as an Executive Post Producer or Senior Post
Producer within long form post production
● Previous experience as a Head of Production in a long form post production
environment is advantageous but we are also considering someone who is ready to step
into a Head of Production position
● A natural leader, someone who leads from the front and encourages high performance
from your team and provides the support and framework for them to succeed
● You have an in-depth knowledge of advanced post production workflow including SVOD
delivery and OCF and DI workflows
● You are an outside the box thinker and problem solver
● You have great organisation and keen attention to detail
● You are excellent at communications and at building constructive relationships with
internal and external stakeholders

Avid Edit Assistant (Online & Grade)

We are looking for an experienced Edit Assistant to join our growing Finishing Post and Delivery team.
What you’ll be doing…
● Conforming in Avid, Resolve, and Baselight
● Setting up and supporting Avid Symphony, Flame, Baselight, and Resolve Grading suites
● Creation of master files for broadcast delivery (AS11, ProRes, IMF, etc)
● Exporting Avid sequences and uploading to web based storage (Splice’s own platform, Aspera, client & channel platforms eg Netflix / Amazon / Youtube)
● Frame rate conversions (Avid and Alchemist)
● File conversions using Content Agent, Resolve, and Media Encoder
● TX file QC
● Ensuring rapid and clear communications between CTA and Post Producers & clients

Who you are...
● At least one year's experience using Avid Media Composer in a post-production facility is essential (Experience with Baselight and / or DaVinci Resolve is desirable)
● Familiar with Avid Media Composer tasks: conforming, exports, master file creation
● Experience of master file QC including DPP AS11, AQC, PSE Testing, and master file delivery an advantage
● A solid understanding of HD/UHD codecs, colour space, and frame rates.
● You are accurate, highly organised, detail oriented with the ambition to deliver high-quality content and an adaptable team player
● A great problem solver and always strive to find the best solution for our clients

Core working hours...
Scheduled working hours totalling 40 hours per week averaged - including weekends and nights if required. Examples: seven x 11 hour shifts per fortnight or five x 8 hour days per week.

We are looking for a Receptionist to join our bustling Hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have excellent client facing skills, a fantastic phone manner, great administration skills and easily be able to provide a friendly and welcoming service to our clients
Daily responsibilities include…
● Being the first point of contact for all calls & clients attending Splice PW
● Answering every phone call and ensuring client needs are met with an excellent phone manner and a quick, quality service
● To ensure any new clients to Splice are greeted in a professional & friendly manner & given a brief orientation to the facility
● To ensure the reception area is presented to the highest standard
● Stock control and maintenance of all office stationery for the building you are stationed at
● Booking staff & client travel
● Regular comms with all staff at Splice to fulfil daily duties
● Delegating ad hoc runs and other post production requirements to the Runners
● Training the hospitality team on reception based tasks, to ensure they all have reception skills for when they may need to cover at any time In addition, this role will require you…
● To promote and contribute to a positive working environment within the hospitality team
● To be an approachable and attentive member of the team
● To assist the Managing Directors, Head of Operations & Production Team where necessary ● To create & maintain strong working relationships with all Splice clients

You'll have…
● Experience as a receptionist for a busy front of house desk
● Ability to work in a fast paced environment
● Excellent English speaking, reading and writing
● Fantastic telephone manner
● An aptitude for providing excellent client services
● An impeccable work ethic and a positive attitude
● Ability to work well in a busy environment as well as being proactive when it is less busy
