My alarm goes off…

I have a new memory foam mattress which has made me into an even bigger snoozer than I was before. After I'm finally up, I watch Netflix whilst getting ready. At the moment it's Queer Eye: who doesn't need a bit of Jonathan Van Ness to start your day?

I’m responsible for…

My dignity (laughs). On a serious note, making sure that all our clients are comfortable, happy and get a great welcome here.  As well as ensuring Splice looks great and all the departments are getting the support they need.

I got my job…

It was before I moved to London, I was looking for jobs in TV and heard about the Hospitality Coordinator role here.  I came in for a trial shift on the hottest day of 2018 and wore heeled boots not realising how many stairs there were at the Old Street facility, it was one of the best leg workouts I've ever had.  I've been here just over a year now, and earlier this month, I was promoted to receptionist, so can actually wear my high heels to work now (laughs)!

My typical day…

I'm the first one in the office, so I get everything set up for the day ahead and pop a nice chilled playlist on with my morning coffee.  Then there'll be a rush of welcoming visitors and making sure they find their way around.  Between phone calls, I'll be cracking on with admin and helping write copy for the HR team for any internal comms; they love my perfectly selected memes!  So any chance I get to use a gif of Jeff Goldblum, you bet your ass I will (laughs).

The best part of my job…

As front of house, I get to meet everyone who comes to Splice so being surrounded by so many talented people from the industry is just a great environment to work in.

The worst part of my job…

It’s the early morning starts, but I've only got myself to blame because I am such a Mariah Carey and need plenty of time to get ready. Great things take time...

After work…

I get home, have a cup of tea, then do a bit of yoga - if yoga has taught me anything it’s that even the tops of my feet can sweat!  After that, I usually settle down for the evening, prep my lunch for the next day and hang out with my boyfriend with some of our favourite telly.

My Plan B…

If we’re talking completely abstract, then I’d love to be some crazy park keeper lady, we’re talking National Parks, not regular parks - I'm from South Wales so it would have to be a bit extra.  I’d patrol with my massive Newfoundland, who I'd call Mr Squishy.  We'd survey our land and keep everyone in check (laughs).

Natasha is Receptionist at our Old Street facility and joined the team in 2018.
