My alarm goes off…

There will usually be about three alarms before I get up, I’m big on snoozing. Then the usual - shower, breakfast and tube straight to work.

I’m responsible for…

In the morning I’ll be setting up all the audio suites - turning on the kit, testing it, making sure the computers are compliant and that everything is working. And then most days I’ll be working on doing tracklay and prep for the team of dubbing mixers.

I got my job…

I went to Ravensbourne University and had just graduated when Splice advertised a runner role on the University's website.  I came in to interview but as I had ProTools experience on my CV, the directors offered me a trial period as an Audio Assistant.  It was a case of right place, right time - they had just started looking for that role.  The trial ended and they were pleased with my work so I was offered a permanent position and the rest is history. Basically, I got lucky and then worked hard!  (laughs)

My typical day…

I do two weeks of day shifts followed by two weeks of night shifts.  Both entail mainly working on tracklay and then doing other bits and bobs like music EDLs, exporting stems and media management.

My most memorable work moment…

I don’t think I have that one moment, there is just this overall sense of pride. I worked on two feature films in the first six months of being here, both of which are now on Netflix actually, so that's pretty cool.  I also got to go to a screening of Carnage and held a door open for Simon Amstell (laughs), that's one of the most memorable moments!

The worst part of my job…

I find it challenging to do night shifts these days. I feel like a ghost in the night who never sees anyone.

The best part of my job…

I am proud to do what I do for a living and it doesn’t feel like a job.

After work…

I watch football and play Mario Kart with my housemates. I also binge a lot of TV, mainly comedies - Seinfeld, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Recreation, Always Sunny in Philadelphia are the best!

My Plan B…

I’ve always been interested in cooking and have cooked from an early age.  Had I not discovered my love of sound I reckon I’d be a chef.
